Soph Time- Some new show & tell

I am currently having time off from work. I have not yet set a date that I plan to return to work. First of all  I am really hoping to receive a graduate job offer for 2013. This is my main focus and goal for the beginning of this year. Once I find out wether I am accepted into a program I can begin make some decisions about my plans for this year.

I am at a point where I'm unsure what I want to do and where I want to be. I am normally the type of person that is highly motivated, knows what I want and where I am heading in the future. However, my motivation and need for achievement has disappeared. Given this, I am viewing the time off and opportunity cost as an investment. It is what I desparately need in order to become my normal self again.

If I continue working towards my goals in this state, they will take much more time and effort to achieve. It may be difficult for others to understand my way of thinking. This break is going to contribute to my overall efficiency as an individual working towards a goal.

I have also done a great deal of thinking this week and have decided to eliminate aspects of my life that aren't good for my happiness and well being. A few of these unfortunately involve friends. One of my good friends wrote a great article relating to this issue and has done a brilliant job of expressing its importance. Have a read of it here.
